The Roos

Bonsai

JP (Jack's Black Pearl) - A fancy name for a fancy little man. JP is an Old English Game Bantam. He is polite, fiercely protective and loyal. He is the smallest boy in the run but that doesn't stop him from reaching for the top. Since he is so little he tends to recognize us by our shoes so he gets a little confused when we change our footwear up on him.

Felipe

Karasu (Kara)

Pants (aka Apricot)

Comet

Munchkin - Munchkin is the darkest of our red cochin boys. He is a sweet boy who will chill with you if you pick him up. Recently when we returned from a trip to Costa Rica we found that he had a severe infection in his right eye. We quickly went to work treating it and all swelling and redness is gone now. unfortunately we were not quick enough and he is now completely blind in his right eye. He has adapted well to his new condition and is getting around fine even if he is not as confident or as brazen as before.

Charlie!! - Everyone's favorite boy. Charlie hatched on the farm in May 2021. He is a light Brahma and is just the sweetest boy ever. Charlie really loves people and is a cuddle bug. He will run up to you and demand pets and cuddles as soon as you enter the run. We never thought chickens would be cuddly, much less a rooster, but this big boy proved us wrong.

Chuck (aka Coo-ka-roo)

Chuck was a surprise rooster. He and Squintz regularly spar for superiority. Both are excellent leaders. He has been relegated to the boy jail and leads them. He alerts them to food and cares for them kindly.

Squintz

A fabulous rooster! He is the flock protector and regularly rounds up the girls and attacks the hawks that go after them. He had a bad, goopy eye initally thus his name. He is father to Lentes. He was supposed to be a pullet, but he didn't get the message from TSC.

Lentes

Son of Squintz and Dragon. He is SKittish, like his mother, and wants nothing to do with us. He resides in boy jail.

Laz (Lazarus)

Son of Charlie and Dragon. He is ridiculously skittish, like his mother, and wants nothing to do with us. He looks a lot like Charlie, though. He resides in boy jail.

Beast

An "American Bresse" who was the first to develop. He is so sweet and loving! He would curl up in your lap if he was able. He is a VERY big boy! He is currently undergoing treatment, as he appears to have a vitamin deficiency. He is unable to walk, but we are hoping to have him up and moving soon.

Inigo (Indigo)

Inigo is a VERY blue boy! He looks like he has a lot of Silkie in him, despite the "American Bresse" name he was sold under. He is a sweet boy, but less friendly than Beast. He will eventually go to boy jail, as he would not be a good Bresse specimen.
